The pressure of the clip on the earlobe can cause soreness or irritation. Additionally, the weight of the earring can also contribute to discomfort. It's important to choose clip-on earrings that are lightweight and have cushioned pads to minimize discomfort. If you experience pain or discomfort while wearing clip-on earrings, it's best to remove them and give your ears a break. **

Clip-on earrings cannot be opened because they are designed to be worn by clipping onto the earlobe without the need for piercing. The clip mechanism is typically a spring-loaded hinge that holds the earring in place on the earlobe. This design allows individuals without pierced ears to still wear earrings. If clip-on earrings could be opened, they would not be able to securely stay in place on the earlobe. **
